Children's Privacy Notice
What we tell children, in their words, about what KidChat keeps and who can read it.
PHASE B — DOCUMENT 1: CHILDREN'S PRIVACY NOTICE (child-facing)
Status: draft for review. Audience: children 6–12, read alone or with a grown-up. Reading level target: ~8 years. No legal terms, no defined-term capitals, no scary framing. Every sentence maps to a Claim-to-Control ID; unsubstantiated claims are marked and must not ship until the control is LIVE.
Placement requirement: this is not a page a child must find. The short version (§A) lives permanently on child surfaces; the full version lives at /trust/children for a child and grown-up to read together.
A. THE SHORT VERSION (always visible in Kid Mode)
KidChat and your privacy Your parent or guardian can see your KidChat conversations. (C-11) KidChat keeps what you write for 30 days, then deletes it. (C-04) If you type something private — like your address, your school, or your phone number — KidChat takes it out before asking the AI, and doesn't keep it. (C-06, C-07 — do not ship until the Privacy Shield is live) KidChat can make mistakes. If something feels wrong or scary, tell a grown-up you trust. (C-20)
B. THE FULL VERSION — /trust/children
Hi! This page is about you.
KidChat is a place to ask questions and think about answers. This page explains what happens to the things you type. If a word is confusing, ask your grown-up — this page is good to read together.
Who set this up?
A grown-up did. A parent or guardian made your KidChat profile, said yes to KidChat, and looks after the account. Kids can't sign themselves up. (C-01, C-03)
Your grown-up can read your conversations
This is important, so we say it plainly: your parent or guardian can see what you ask KidChat and what KidChat answers. KidChat is not a secret diary. Your grown-up has to use a special code to open your conversations, and KidChat writes down each time they look. (C-11, C-12)
What KidChat keeps
- Your first name and how old you are, so answers fit you.
- The questions you ask and the answers you get.
- Which parts of KidChat you used, and for how long.
KidChat keeps your conversations for 30 days, and then they are deleted. Your grown-up can delete them sooner, any time. If your profile is deleted, your conversations go too. (C-04, C-05)
Some things KidChat takes out before asking
(Do not publish this section until C-06 and C-07 are LIVE.)
Some information is private: where you live, your school, your phone number, your last name, a photo of you. If you type something like that, KidChat takes it out before sending your question to the AI, and doesn't keep it.
You'll see a friendly note when that happens, like: "Let's keep that private — I removed it before asking." You didn't do anything wrong. It's just KidChat looking after you.
Things KidChat does NOT do
- KidChat does not show you ads. (C-09)
- KidChat does not sell what you write to anyone. (C-09)
- KidChat does not let strangers message you. There is no chat with other people here.
- KidChat does not ask you for your address, your phone number, or a photo of you.
- KidChat does not listen through your microphone. Talking out loud is turned off right now. (C-16)
If something feels bad
If you're worried, scared, or someone is hurting you, please tell a grown-up you trust — a parent, a teacher, a school counselor, a doctor, or another adult who keeps you safe.
KidChat can show you a real help line you can call or text. But KidChat is a computer program: it can't call anyone for you, and it can't send help to your house. A real person nearby can. (C-13, C-15)
KidChat gets things wrong sometimes
KidChat is a computer that guesses good answers. Sometimes it's wrong. It's a great place to think, and a bad place for anything that really matters — for that, ask a grown-up or check a book or a trusted website. (C-20)

No hiciste nada malo. KidChat solo te está cuidando.
Cosas que KidChat NO hace
- KidChat no te muestra anuncios.
